Fit Notes: Important Information for Optimal Performance

  • All Husqvarna Captive Nut Clutch Covers are exclusively compatible with WCS 3-point felling dogs. They are not compatible with factory dogs or 4 and 5-points.

  • Clutch covers cannot be retrofitted from captive to standard bar nuts.

  • If you plan to run a 404 chain, consider shaving 0.015 inches off the chain slider for optimal fit.


Chip Deflector Note: Tailored to Your Chainsaw Model


  • For 390/572 clutch covers, use Stihl chip deflector part no. 100-1001.

  • For 365/372/585/592, use Husky chip deflector part no. 100-1012.


Installation Tips: Ensure a Seamless Upgrade


  • Remove the chain adjuster rod from your factory clutch cover and install it in the Westcoast Saw cover. If assistance is needed, contact us for support.

  • Install felling dog bolts from the inside of the cover, facing out, ensuring the nut is on the outside of the felling dog.

  • Pound the chain sliders down against the cover until they stop to achieve optimal clearances for maximum wear and smooth chain movement.
